Vietnamese-Style Cold Brew
I whip this up on lazy Sundays or when my friends pop by looking for something other than the usual joe. Trust me, this brew is a showstopper. With its rich flavors and unique twist, it’s perfect for those moments when you want to make your coffee routine a bit more fabulous. It’s basically my coffee version of throwing a backyard BBQ with all the fancy fixings—minus the grill.
Ingredients
Cold Brew Base:
- 1 cup coarsely ground coffee beans Vietnamese coffee if you can find it, but any good quality will do
- 4 cups cold filtered water
Sweetened Condensed Milk Mixture:
- 1/4 cup sweetened condensed milk
- 1/4 cup whole milk or more condensed milk if you’re feeling extra indulgent
To Finish:
- Ice cubes
Instructions
- Brew the Cold Brew: Combine the coarsely ground coffee beans with cold water in a large jar. Give it a stir, cover it, and let it steep in the fridge for 12 hours. This is where the magic happens!
- Strain the Cold Brew: After steeping, strain the coffee through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth into a clean container. This keeps the brew smooth and free of gritty bits.
- Mix the Sweetened Condensed Milk: In a separate container, mix the sweetened condensed milk with the whole milk. You can adjust the amount of sweetened condensed milk based on how sweet you like it—extra indulgence is always an option.
- Combine and Serve: Fill your glasses with ice cubes. Pour the cold brew over the ice, then add the sweetened condensed milk mixture. Stir well to combine, and enjoy your Vietnamese-Style Cold Brew!
