Oat Milk Café Bombón
I whip up this beauty when I’m feeling fancy but don’t want to leave my cozy corner of Portland. Whether I’m pretending to be a Parisian connoisseur or just need a sweet pick-me-up, this drink never disappoints. And, let’s face it, it’s my go-to when I want to feel like a total beverage boss.
Ingredients
- 1 shot of espresso or 1/2 cup strong brewed coffee
- 1/4 cup sweetened condensed oat milk
- 1/2 cup oat milk
- Ice optional, for a chilled twist
Instructions
- Brew the Espresso: Start by brewing a shot of espresso. If you’re using a coffee maker, brew 1/2 cup of strong coffee instead.
- Heat the Oat Milk: In a small saucepan, gently heat 1/2 cup of oat milk over medium heat until warm but not boiling. Stir occasionally.
- Prepare the Glass: Pour 1/4 cup of sweetened condensed oat milk into a heatproof glass.
- Combine: Carefully pour the hot espresso over the condensed oat milk.
- Top It Off: Gently pour the warm oat milk over the espresso, allowing the layers to form. For a chilled version, add ice before pouring in the oat milk.
- Mix and Enjoy: Stir lightly if you prefer a uniform taste or leave it layered for a dramatic presentation. Sip and revel in your café creation.
