Instructions
 

  • In a medium saucepan, whisk together cocoa powder, sugar, cornstarch, and instant coffee.
  • Gradually add milk while whisking to avoid lumps.
  • Cook over medium heat, stirring continuously, until mixture thickens—about 5 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and salt.
  • Pour into serving cups, let cool, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  • Serve chilled, topped with whipped cream or chocolate shavings if desired.
