Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease Bundt pan.
In a bowl, mix flour, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
Beat butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time.
Stir in fresh ginger and vanilla extract.
Gradually add dry ingredients and buttermilk, alternating in batches.
Pour batter into the Bundt pan.
Bake for 40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Let cool for 10 minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack.
