For the Banana Bread:

  • Ripe bananas: 3 medium mashed
  • All-purpose flour: 1 ¾ cups
  • Baking powder: 1 teaspoon
  • Baking soda: ½ teaspoon
  • Ground cinnamon: 1 teaspoon
  • Salt: ½ teaspoon
  • Granulated sugar: ½ cup
  • Brown sugar: ¼ cup
  • Eggs: 2 large
  • Butter melted: ½ cup
  • Vanilla extract: 1 teaspoon
  • Chocolate chips: 1 cup semi-sweet or dark

For the Coffee Caramel Sauce:

  • Brown sugar: ½ cup
  • Butter: 4 tablespoons
  • Heavy cream: ¼ cup
  • Brewed coffee: 2 tablespoons
  • Vanilla extract: ½ teaspoon

Instructions
 

  • Step 1: Preheat and Prepare
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Line a loaf pan with parchment paper, grease the sides, and set aside.
  • Step 2: Mix Dry Ingredients
  • In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt. Set aside.
  • Step 3: Mix Wet Ingredients
  • In another bowl, mash the bananas and stir in the sugars, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  • Step 4: Combine the Two
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips.

  • Pour the batter into the loaf pan and smooth the top.
  • Bake for 60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Step 6: Prepare the Coffee Caramel Sauce
  • In a saucepan, melt butter and brown sugar together over medium heat.
  • Stir in the heavy cream, coffee, and vanilla.
  • Bring to a boil and simmer for 2 minutes, then remove from heat.
  • Step 7: Drizzle the Sauce
  • Allow the banana bread to cool for 10 minutes, then drizzle with the coffee caramel sauce.
